“Mirror Error”
series of postcards | format 10.5 × 14.8 cm
2011Mirror Error is a series of postcards depicting the usual places, which are numerous in each city. Tightly framed images, micro-urban landscapes are the aesthetic opposite of the image of the city presented outside. The inhabitant’s everyday attention is drawn to details—unlike the gaze of the tourist who receives the image of the city in a selective and beautified way. Places out of the official center, inconspicuous views and trivial details make up this urban mini-collection. By incorporating the panes of reflective mirror to each frame, a picture within a picture was created, or rather a picture in a frame, where the frame of the image is a real view and the image is its unreal reflection. The frames are ‘infected’ by the unfamiliar image, and the role of each image is at stake in individual scenes.
